# HighLevel Sequences

> Build and optimize email/SMS nurture sequences with AI-generated steps.

The Sequences builder helps you create email and SMS nurture sequences for your HighLevel account, using AI to generate step content aligned with your brand and audience.

## Accessing Sequences

Navigate to **CRM → Sequences** in the sidebar.

## Creating a Sequence

### Step 1: Template Selection

Choose a sequence template based on your goal:

* **Lead nurture** — Multi-step follow-up for new leads
* **Post-demo follow-up** — Engagement after a demo or call
* **Re-engagement** — Win back cold or inactive leads
* **Onboarding** — Welcome and activation sequence
* **Custom** — Build from scratch

### Step 2: Configure Audience

Select the target ICP for the sequence. This determines:

* Tone and messaging style
* Pain points and benefits emphasized
* CTA offers presented
* Technical depth and formality

### Step 3: Generate Steps

AI generates the sequence steps based on your template and audience:

* Each step includes subject line, body copy, and CTA
* Steps follow a logical progression (awareness → consideration → decision)
* Timing between steps is pre-configured based on the template

You can edit, reorder, add, or remove steps before finalizing.

### Step 4: Workflow Import

Optionally import an existing HighLevel workflow JSON to use as the sequence structure. The import wizard provides a prompt to paste into HighLevel's Agent Builder AI — the AI exports the workflow as structured JSON that WisePilot parses into sequence steps.

## Sequence Steps

Each step in a sequence includes:

| Field          | Description                         |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------- |
| **Channel**    | Email or SMS                        |
| **Subject** | Email subject line (email only) |
| **Body**       | Message content                     |
| **CTA** | Call to action with destination URL |
| **Delay** | Time between this step and the next |
| **Conditions** | Optional trigger conditions         |

## AI-Powered Step Refinement

The sequence editor includes an AI chat panel that can see and improve individual step content:

1. **Open any sequence** from the sequence list
2. **Strategy fields** (goal, audience, tone, channel) appear in the form alongside the sequence wizard
3. **Use the AI chat** to refine steps with full brand/ICP context:
   * "Improve step 3 messaging to be more urgent"
   * "Make all steps match our brand voice"
   * "Rewrite the subject lines for higher open rates"
   * "Add personalization to steps 2 and 4"
4. **Quick actions** provide one-click optimizations:
   * **Analyze Flow** — Review timing and progression
   * **Improve Copy** — Strengthen messaging across all steps
   * **Refine Steps with Brand Context** — Rewrite using brand guidelines and ICP data
   * **Optimize Timing** — Adjust delays based on channel and goal
5. **Apply** changes, then **Save** to persist updated step content

<Tip>The AI can see all step content at once, so it can ensure consistency across the entire sequence — matching tone, building urgency progressively, and avoiding repetition.</Tip>

## Performance Tracking

Once sequences are deployed in HighLevel, performance data flows back into WisePilot automatically:

* **Step-level engagement** — Reply rates and outcomes per step, tracked via message matching
* **Outcome attribution** — Which step triggered a reply, appointment, or qualification
* **Drop-off analysis** — Which step loses the most leads
* **Daily snapshots** — Per-step and aggregate metrics are compiled nightly for trend analysis

WisePilot matches outbound messages from HighLevel to your sequence steps using content matching — no additional configuration required. Performance metrics update daily as part of the nightly sync. See [Automation & Data Freshness](/optimization/automation) for details.

See the [Nurture Attribution](/reports/nurture-attribution) report for detailed sequence analytics.
